Merry Christmas! I hope you and your family had a great holiday! We had a fun Christmas at home (the baby even had her own little stocking!). The next day we took off to New York City for a "babymoon"; just our last little getaway before the baby comes. We had a great time!

Nebraska Baby Shower

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Dan's sisters Molly and Lisa, his cousin Angie, and my sister Jenny and sister-in-law Brandi threw me a shower back in Nebraska. It was such a fun time to see everyone! I had lots of helpers opening my gifts, and it was a pink explosion. Plus, I guess little miss Brown is going to be a Cubs fan!

Baby Girl Brown 29 Weeks
Baby Girl Brown continues to grow! This week she is approximately 2 1/2 pounds and around 16 inches from head to heel. Sometimes I'm not sure how I'm going to get any bigger! She's started opening and closing her eyes, and she can see bright lights through my belly. She is putting on some baby fat and her bones are hardening. She's definitely an active little one, as I feel her moving around in there quite a bit. Only about another 11 weeks until we get to meet her, and we're really excited!

And its a.....

....girl! She and her mother are both very healthy.
We are super excited to meet her in February. We got a 3D of her face this morning which was amazing but they didn't want to print it out because her face isn't filled out yet....which by the way is completely normal. With 22 weeks left, she still has a bunch of developing left. So once she gets a little more fat on her frame we may have a 3D picture. Her skin is still translucent so the following picture is a little freaky but the doctor said that everything looks great.

17 weeks!
We thought that you all would like to have an update on both how Ann is doing and what is going on with Baby Brown. Next Thursday, September 3 is when we find out the gender of our little person! We will surely post pictures as we get them.
Ann is feeling good. She hasn't experienced much sickness but has headaches from time to time. She requires a little more sleep than usual and experience fatigue a little more during her work day. Speaking of work, she told everyone at Novartis two weeks ago and they were all supportive. We are planning on taking 10 weeks for her maternity leave depending on how things go. She does complain that she doesn't fit into her pants so its time to get some more clothes for her.
Baby Brown's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. He/she is tipping the scales at 5 ounces now and is around 5 inches long from crown to rump, similar in size to a turnip. Here are some other develops little Brown is experiencing:

What an exciting time! We went to the doctor last week and saw the baby move around, and saw his/her heart beating. We've never seen anything more amazing in our lives! We're looking forward to seeing him/her again!
