17 weeks!

We thought that you all would like to have an update on both how Ann is doing and what is going on with Baby Brown. Next Thursday, September 3 is when we find out the gender of our little person! We will surely post pictures as we get them.

Ann is feeling good. She hasn't experienced much sickness but has headaches from time to time. She requires a little more sleep than usual and experience fatigue a little more during her work day. Speaking of work, she told everyone at Novartis two weeks ago and they were all supportive. We are planning on taking 10 weeks for her maternity leave depending on how things go. She does complain that she doesn't fit into her pants so its time to get some more clothes for her.

Baby Brown's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. He/she is tipping the scales at 5 ounces now and is around 5 inches long from crown to rump, similar in size to a turnip. Here are some other develops little Brown is experiencing:
  • He/She can move his/her joints. Ann should soon begin to feel the baby!
  • Eyebrows and hair are beginning to emerge
  • The baby is beginning to grow a layer of fat under his/her skin to keep him/her warm when he/she reaches planet earth.
That's all for now. More to come.

15 Weeks...

Can't believe we're almost halfway there!  In about 3 weeks we find out the gender of the baby.

Plastic Confirmation

One of the 2 pregnancy tests we took in June to confirm our suspicion.  Dan wants everyone to know we cleaned the counter after we took the picture.
